Not every song needs the audience to whoop and scream afterwards.
I long for the time when audiences didn't generally whoop or scream, period. Enthusiastic applause was enough. (And yes, sometimes numbers were written with the intention of subverting applause, which can work too,. Although in my experience audiences do want to applaud.) |
