Also, in the end credits of the 1958 film of South Pacific is an actress listed as Joan Fontaine. Apparently, that is the name of one of the Polynesian extras.

There was also a stage actress named Doris Day in the 30's and 40's with 2 Broadway credits: The Women and Susan and God.

In addition, for the 1942 Broadway musical Count Me In, IBDB and the opening night Playbill list an actress named Jean Arthur as a dancing girl, who was definitely not the famous actress, who had a long, illustrious career on stage, was prominent in films from the 30's into the 50's, and starred briefly on a TV show.
