Of course, Anthony Quinn, although he really couldn't sing at all, played Zorba onstage with Kedrova.

I think Hepburn could have handled the low-lying relatively undemanding songs for Gigi, as she had handled the songs in Funny Face.

Mike Kellin played Tevya in Arnold Perl's Tevya and His Daughters (as it was spelled) Off-Broadway in 1957, and then later played Tevye in Fiddler in stock. Of course, Fiddler is not really adapted from Perl's play, even though he got credit and royalties, but no one involved in the creation of Fiddler thought Perl's play was good, and they didn't use it. But he had some sort of stage rights to the stories and so he ended up making a lot of money from Fiddler.

There was a truncated one-LP recording of Tevya and His Daughters with Howard Da Silva, who had directed and I think produced the stage production. Da Silva was among those considered for Tevye in the musical, and he certainly could have done it, even if his singing might not have been terribly good, especially in the higher parts of the role, as he had a very limited range. "Lonely Room" is barely more than an octave.

Alec McCowen played Higgins in the 1970s in Pygmalion in London opposite Diana Rigg as Eliza (and there was a recording), and later was Higgins on the JAY not-quite-complete recording of My Fair Lady. So he probably could have played Higgins onstage in the musical.
