The sex is simulated, but that doesn’t lessen the psychological impact of portraying being graphically violated not just physically but because of your race. That moment is putting ancestral trauma on stage for everyone to see, and it is raw.
The only thing that I’ve seen on stage that comes close to that type of trauma is the anal knife scene in Shopping and Fucking. |
