| While I don't agree with everything in lordofspeech's post, I think the disconnect comes from Ernst, an early follower of Hitler, being so friendly to Cliff — in fact, befriending him — and Sally. And then Ernst even gives him the Mein Kampf, although not necessarily expecting that Cliff will read it. If you want to be really picky, you might also find that customs inspector in the second scene doesn't look inside Cliff's bags if Cliff is black. |
