| Interesting question! I had fun reading the responses from other uses. I tried to think of some of my own examples, but none came to mind that matched the criteria of your question. A couple of adjacent cases though: --The original play version of Kimberly Akimbo featured John Gallagher Jr. in the role of the young boyfriend, as well as Ana Gasteyer in the role of the aunt. Both fo whom would have killed it in the musical if the timing/ages had worked out differently. --Worth noting too, of course, that Rachel Zegler played Maria in West Side Story, and is now about to go back to the source play, in the "same" role. |
