The contours are the same - a pattern of 4 descending pitches. But only the first two pitches in each example are actually the same (i.e. "never" and "changing"). Pitches 3 and 4 are not. And the interval of "see Jo" is very very different than "it keeps."

The 4 notes of "never see Jo" are simply 8-7-6-5 of a normal descending major scale. Which is a pattern you'll find in all sorts of songs and pieces. The Christmas hymn "Joy to the World" comes to mind instantly. :-)
