Listen, I agree about poetry, and theater.

But you're barking up the wrong reality if you're trying to say that T.S.'s book of poems isn't about cats, and that ALW's Cats isn't about cats. He has said as much.

I'm not saying it can't be reinterpreted. Shakespeare wrote about specific things, people, places, etc, that are not always representing exactly, literally, accurately, at all, in revivals. Etc.

I'm just saying it is a radical revisionist take on what Cats is, just as Oklahoma was.

Stop putting this on me. I didn't say *I* "want" it any one way or another. And I'm not saying it's not a triumph. Jesus, stop taking everything so personally. We are discussing theater. This wasn't even about dissecting this Cats revival as much as it was about dissecting the OP (which maybe was you i don't even remember)'s statement about how Fish's revisionist Oklahoma, in its re-envisioning it, trashed the Oklahoma, while loving this revisionist Cats. That's been pretty clear.
