| I disagree with this. It's a pretty intimate story, perfect for the big screen. And I thought the movie was good. It bombed because people thought the Ben Platt was too old and not believable as straight (everyone assumed the movie was about a gay kid because Ben himself is gay). Plus, his Dad produced it and people were a little turned off by that too. The actual movie itself was very well done and he gave a performance that equalled his work onstage. I agree that the show would probably still be running if the movie never happened. The brand was tarnished. | |
