I agree that it seemed perfect for the screen, an intimate story with every character's point of view well expressed and an ethical hole that its protagonist understandably dug himself into at its center. But I didn't think it was well made. Platt does not project well on screen (I felt this way watching The Politician, too). He doesn't seem to trust simplicity and the director didn't seem to, either; I remember much of it seeming awfully busy. It certainly didn't help extend the run of the show, though it's hard to say whether it would have run its course by then anyway.

I loved it on stage. I did not see Platt.
