Brooklyn Central Library is shutting down its "Arts/Music" floor

Not sure how many ATC folks have used the Brooklyn public library, but:

I learned from a BPL librarian this week that beginning next week, the 3rd floor Arts/Music of the Brooklyn Central Library (by Grand Army Plaza) will be shut down and converted to office space. There were several hundred musical theater vocal selections books and scores there, too, with some pretty deep cuts! They will mostly not be available for browsing anymore, although the scores will be available upon request from storage. The library is rearranging its space and moving lots of books to storage: three of the current library wings into one. The linked project description mentions making new "areas accessible" but these will be much smaller than the areas getting shut down. The current 3rd floor will become office space for library staff, and one of the second floor wings will become a youth center. This will also mean that all of the public seating on the 3rd floor (around 50 seats) will not be available anymore. Apparently this renovation has been in the works for some time now.
