| I was so struck by her speech about her family, & her father...when I went online to read about her, I found a NY TIMES article about her father Klay Young, a devoted, enthusiastic member of the hospitality industry who in his 30 years at the Rainbow Room has risen to the not so easy to achieve position of captain, and who received a standing ovation from the entire room as he helped tend his daughter's table at the 2022 Tony nominee luncheon, at which he has served for years. As Ms. Young alluded in her speech, through his work there he also put his wife through two college degrees to help achieve HER dream. He is my hero of the evening, and I hope I get to wait on HIM sometime at my survival job! | |
