Yes, I think it's self-indulgent and rude for winners to give seemingly endless speeches. Lewis took much more time (over 3 minutes) than her colleagues.
It makes the ceremony that much longer, and risks shortening the time for others on the telecast. For instance, the first few acting categories included video clips of each of the nominees' performances. The rest of the clips apparently got dumped as the show ran long. That was unfair to the other nominees. |
