| I think Warren is incredible. I've loved her in what I've seen her. However I don't think she's done nearly enough work or variety of roles to be able to say that she can "make anything work." I know very few actors who can actually make anything work. I mean work in the sense that, sure, it'll be fine, it'll have displays of huge talent, but not necessarily right for the role or the show and consequently the show doesn't quite ever work... I can't say I get this casting... either of them, frankly, let alone together. Though my ability to believe them as a couple without having ever seen them play a couple is not top on my list. I know many couples that don't seem well matched (including the one I'm in). In fact... Kathy and Jamie are not a well matched couple, in love at the start or not. More to the point these actors do not seem well matched with their roles, Nick as Jamie or Adrienne as Kathy. But I'm glad this show will get the attention of a Broadway spotlight and marketing reach. |
