Well, if you know the show at all (and I assume you do), you'll know that they don't exactly make a very good couple anyway lol. (Also, neither are very appealing characters to say the least IMO.)
Though of course yeah, there's more dramatic tension if we do feel they would make a good couple. But is it really worth it?
