At last night's performances, Krysta and Ashlyn as Rose and Kim and the choreographed ensemble numbers were the standouts. And yes, everyone in my group agreed that Ashlyn resembled AM quite a bit (and I suspect she watched the movie--at least the title number--more than once). For me, the concept and performance--and the costuming, yuk--of Birdie as Little Richard was a total fail. Sykes seemed a little lost and I'm guessing felt a little stranded. Knowing the show mostly from the movie, I was so disappointed when "I've Got a Lot of Living to Do" (my favorite number) was sung by Birdie (not terribly well) and not by Hugo.
