Why should it sting, unless some people legitimately don't want men to win anymore?

I truly cannot imagine a year in this reality where any entertainment awards are given, especially with the awards given like this with the top 2 getting the award in each of the 4 categories (Lead/Featured Play/Musical, or for Oscars I guess just Lead/Supporting), and all of them go to men. It's just not going to ever happen.

But if it did... I thought we don't recognize or care about gender any more? So we can only trust people to vote for the "best" performance and have that been unquestioned if the ones they vote for are women? But if the votes go to men that year, then it's probably bias and male privilege and patriarchy rearing it's ugly head again, as always!
