At the moment there are no exceptions. There is a website for voters to indicate the date they saw each show. If you miss a show that has nominees, you can't vote in categories where those nominees are included. That category is removed from your (electronic) ballot. Its a bit of an honor system - but I imagine that producers can respond to the Tonys which members have asked for (and used) their tickets.
