Or it is kept, but it does indeed go to conservative artists and art forms that resonate more with MAGA crowd? Country Western singers, Christian actors and filmmakers (Mel Gibson seems an obvious choice), the guy who wrote the Left Behind books.
I think Trump and/or his crowd is very interested in "seizing back" cultural institutions that have "gone woke" and using them to uphold their right-wing, Christian Nationalist views. As a bonus we feel like we're being persecuted and losing our safe spaces. |
