I think the OP will be fine on the subway, especially if they follow your advice to know the other options in case of a delay. I live two subway stops further from Manhattan than BAM, I routinely leave my apartment an hour before curtain time at theaters in the 42nd St area, and I've never missed a show. I would advise taking either the Q train or the 2,3 train from Atlantic Av to Times Square. The key is to use the official MTA app or other transit app, so you'll see when the train is actually going to arrive at Atlantic Avenue. As you mentioned, also at Atlantic are other options, if both the Q and the 2,3 are delayed. According to the schedule, the Q train that leaves Atlantic Av at 6:12pm on Sunday will arrive in Times Square at 6:32. So, even if it's behind schedule, you'll be OK. And, of course, a curtain that's supposedly at 7pm is going to be 7:05pm at the earliest. If you want to feel more secure, go to BAM a little early, and scout out the closest Atlantic Av subway entrance to BAM, so you'll be familiar with how to quickly get from BAM to the subway after Streetcar. |
