That's a tough call. Are you a New Yorker who takes the train and just haven't been to BAM in awhile, or are you less experienced with the trains? Reason I ask is that I think you can buy some peace of mind with the train if you are ready at any moment to adjust your path based on possible delays or disruptions. I live near BAM and mostly enjoy quick and uneventful train trips to midtown from Atlantic Avenue. But on the weekend it can be less reliable as others have said. I often take unexpected detours because I know the train system well. 2/3 not doing what you want? D can get you to west 4th where you could hop the ACE to 34th, or D all the way to 34th. Or you could switch to the F at west 4th. Also NQ to 34th. R to Jay Street, then switch to the F or A. Anyway, being armed with all those options would make me feel a little better, but you have to know them really in advance. Probably not time to figure out on the fly. Car scares me too. That should be about 30 mins but if you are stuck in traffic it feels like it could be harder to pivot than if you need to adjust trains. If you are stuck in a cab on a bridge or something, where are you going to go you know? | |
