I caught this ''Peter Pan'' when it played San Francisco last fall, and it was a delightful and Darling family show. The flying effects were first-rate. I appreciated Larissa Fasthorse's up-to-date efforts to erase the racial stereotypes of Native Americans. And gone is the cringey ''Ugg-a-Wugg'' song. It's been replaced by the jaunty and joyous ''Friends Forever,'' a reworking of ''Comes Once in a Lifetime'' from ''Subways Are for Sleeping.''

But what really made this show soar was Nolan Almeida, 17, as Peter Pan. A real charmer, he sang (and flew) like an angel, and did flips in mid-air.

Chromolume: When did Jonah Barricklo take over that role? Maybe Peter Pan ''won't grow up,'' but you must be so happy to see your students do so.
