NEW OFF-BROADWAY REVIEW - "THE ANTIQUITIES"

Marc Miller takes a look at The Antiquities at Playwrights Horizons:

A decade back, Jordan Harrison got us thinking about artificial intelligence, man-machine relationships, and the dangers of rapidly advancing technologies in his Pulitzer finalist Marjorie Prime. He's dealing in similar themes with The Antiquities, at Playwrights Horizons, but theatrically, he's in a different ballpark altogether. Marjorie Prime was an intimate four-person drama; The Antiquities sprawls across four and a half centuries, dispensing new characters and situations like gumballs. You may be confused at times, or question what this plotline has to do with that one, and as Harrison's principal point becomes clearer, you may wish he didn't push it quite so hard. But you'll be entertained. And you'll surely be parsing his arguments as you exit.
