Thanks for these details. Having seen the original a few times, I'll be interested to see how it all plays. I saw the first tour that starred Chita and then a bus and truck with a younger actress a year or two later. Based on the latter, I think there's a case for having cast a relative unknown in the Aurora role for the movie. I remain skeptical about JLo bringing much to the table. I've always felt she "plays at" being a diva rather than being a real diva, her reputation for being difficult to work with aside. That is based on her level of talent and output over her career. I was the one who asked if it was a vanity project for her, mainly because this is part of the big comeback push she was making last year with a new album and the tour that got cancelled because not enough people were buying what she's selling. It's her company that is producing it, which also points to her having a major say in the final product. |
