Is it June Havoc who is Miss Hannigan in the archived ANNIE at TOFT at Lincoln Center? I am pretty sure it is. It sounds as if it's a half-empty house at the cavernous Uris and she seemed to be playing it for laughs that weren't coming. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's Gary Beach and Rita Rudner as Rooster and Lily and they are both great.) Harve Presnell is magnificent as Daddy Warbucks: huge and strapping and kinda sexy. You totally get why Grace is in love with him (besides all the war bucks).

I saw the SWEENEY TODD tour in Ottawa with Havoc and Petty. I don't really remember details, but I certainly loved the production. I'd been listening to the album but don't think I'd seen the Tonys in 1979 or the taped version (which I think was done for pay-tv?). So it would have been my first SWEENEY.

Interesting that they jettisoned the penny dreadful artwork from the original and went with more of a Mort Drucker-style cartoon logo for that tour. It makes it look like a totally different production but I remember in the souvenir programme there are lots of pictures of Harold Prince chilling with June and Ross. I know the set was modified (by necessity) but otherwise I think it was the same as Broadway.
