If ''Wicked'' had flopped, Chu would've gotten the most blame as the director ... not the ''25-50+ producers, etc.'' It's a hit, so he gets the credit.

I don't need to list to you the hit Broadway musicals that became Hollywood flops. ''Wicked's'' movie success was not automatic or guaranteed.

Hey, you think a better movie could've been made. For me, it's far better than I expected, and I was skeptical about breaking it into two films.

''And his movie got a Best Picture nomination which is a nom for him too.''

Actually, no. Only Marc Platt is credited as the producer (per PGA), so he alone gets the Oscar if ''Wicked'' wins Best Picture.

Chu isn't even among its executive producers, like Holzman or Schwartz. But I'll agree with you on this: ''Chu is a fantastic talent.''
