I agree that nowadays, I don't think that you would have been humored as much, particularly by the stage door security folks. I'm pleasantly surprised that Nathan Lane indulged you as much as he did, considering he's got a reputation for being kind of prickly.
Sadly, I think that today, there are too many people who would make everyone else regret it if they were given any kind of access or latitude, so I think security has to be much tighter than it used to be. |
