I saw it. It was colorless and dreary. Liv Ullman was fine, but the piece itself was a snooze.
What I remember most is this: the Act I curtain line was delivered almost directly to the audience.
Mama, echoing a line from an earlier song, said dramatically: It IS the end of the world.
The woman behind (who I truly think was the comedy writer Selma Diamond) said:
"The end of the world? I wish it was the end of the show." |
