If he didn't like the idea, he would not have allowed it to be done, surely. Like when a production of Company wantd to make Bobby a gay man and he said no. He also said how much he didn't like the original Donmar 'Meerrily'back in 2000, because it had parts of the original production in, that weren't authorised.
