| I saw Gwen in Chicago three times and years later saw her in Love Letters opposite Kevin McCarthy. She was absolutely wonderful in the latter. I became obsessed with Verdon when the Million Dollar Movie ran "Damn Yankees" 9 times a week back in the 1960s. Nothing was on demand back then but if you were insistent enough, you could convince your family (or when that failed, your neighbors) to watch "Damn Yankees" most of those nine times! |
