| Certainly she was the biggest box-office dancing star and perhaps the most influential to the musical. I love Chita, Donna McKechnie, Karen Ziemba, Carol Haney, Ann Reinking and many of the others as well, to say nothing of such incredible ballet dancers like Gelsey Kirkland and Natalia Makarova. Actually though, my two favorite female dancers are Gwen and Vera-Ellen, so felt now was a good time to honor Gwen. Those last two were such incredible dancers and perfectionists that they most likely would have picked up and exceeded whatever the latest requirements were. | |
