I first saw Gwen in Damn Yankees film, then had the pleasure of seeing her live in Redhead - what a captivating personality she had. Her dancing in Essie'e Vision was one of the funniest and most thrilling dance numbers I have ever seen. She had another show stopping dance in the escape from jail number in Act 2. Her energy was amazing. I also had the joy of seeing her as Charity and as Roxie. Audience members couldn't keep their eyes off of her, and our hearts went out to her in each and every show. A brilliant performer, magical in the same way Mary Martin, Ethel Merman, Chita Rivera and Angela Lansbury were. |
