Can't Glenn and Barbra lip synch to already put down vocal tracks?

Being that for the most part that's how most musical numbers for film are traditionally done anyway? That was a way to keep having to have an orchestra on the periphery of the set and paying them lots of money on the clock while waiting for lights and all the other details that prolong a shooting day. Some very early musicals were done that way until someone figured out a way to save money with lip synching. (Although in a rarity, Rex Harrison had it part of his contract for "My Fair Lady" that his songs be recorded live on set.) I don't know if Barbra has recorded all of Rose's songs at some point, but Glenn pretty much has over the years where there are some much better takes in better voice. As far as the makeup and energy of playing what are now younger women, that's still something to possibly reckon with.
