Circa the early 90’s, I believe Barbra would have been a magnificent Rose.

I attended the Back to Brooklyn concert. It was fantastic - and absolutely thrilling - to see Barbra take the stage in Brooklyn where it all began. Her performance of As if We Never Said Goodbye was so resonant, it took my breath away. I will never forget the moment when she belted the lyric “I’ve come home at last.” I still get chills when I think about that moment.

But I agree, her voice was showing the effects of time. No doubt she still possesses an incredible instrument, but it’s naturally showing signs of time’s inevitable passing. We’re all human. Even Barbra. Nonetheless, it is one of my all-time most treasured concert memories.
