There are now quite a few beautifully restored Broadway theaters. But the trend was started in the '90s by Jujamcyn at the Walter Kerr (formerly the Ritz) which was restored to virtually its exact original design, from the paint colors to the carpet pattern. It's far from the most comfortable theater to sit in, but it is among the most beautiful and accurately restored, and the lighted bulb marquee was created from the original plans, which were not executed in the '20s when the theater opened, but which Jujamcyn paid to have built.
