I'm in the minority in having found Lansbury a bit disappointing as Anna, except for "Shall I Tell You What I Think of You?" But she did have a short rehearsal period and a three-week run so I imagine that with more time, I probably would have found her wonderful. I saw her in her second week, on Wednesday evening.
I am very glad that I went because Michael Kermoyan was wonderful as the King. Deeply moving.
