better planning from the producers wouldn't have forced a week of cancelled shows during the Christmas week.
That's easy hindsight, and also not necessarily true.
Most shows aren't prepared for such a thing to happen right out of the gate - understudies aren't usually ready yet, orchestra issues have already been pointed out here, etc. Perhaps the only thing the producers could have planned differently is not not have opened when they did, so that either infections weren't spreading as much at the time, and/or the holiday season wouldn't have been the start of the run. But that's all hindsight too.
But the show went on today, so hopefully it's back for good. |
