I assume you are referring to the original orchestrations. I don't know. Those seem to change over time.
But, despite what the music might tell you, the intention -- as Hammerstein states explicitly -- the ballet is over. Although some productions might make things fuzzy. But to say that Act One ends with the ballet is like saying that Rose's Turn ends Gypsy (although I have seen productions which wrong-headily did exactly that without the important last scene). |
