An astonishing piece of musical theater. It's a mixed bag, I admit, and the writing for the women, is not only better but clearer than what the men have... but in pieces and as a whole, it's absolutely unlike anything else I've seen or heard on Broadway, and I find the score thrilling and passionate and exciting.
I've wanted Encores to do this show for years. I don't see it happening. But maybe once LaChiusa's masterpiece The Wild Party is back on the schedule, the chance for MC will strengthen. |
