| I liked the outside camera work in Network, and I liked it in Sunset Blvd. I found it novel and riveting in both cases, an extra shot of energy in productions I already thought were pretty exciting. But I have a hazy recollection of von Hove pioneering this kind of technique in his production of Hedda Gabler with Elizabeth Marvel at New York Theatre Workshop many years ago. I have an image in my head of garbage cans being upended on the sidewalk outside the venue. Or am I misremembering? |
