I feel that same way about "Titanic"
Only because you brought it up (i.e. not to take away from the Cabaret discussion too much) - people who didn't see the original production of Titanic wouldn't know about this, but as you entered the outer lobby in the Lunt-Fontanne where the ticket booth was, the walls were full of small commemorative plaques with the names of the deceased passengers on them. So even before going into the theatre, you were reminded that this wasn't just "a musical," but the story of a real tragic event that cost way too many lives. It was sobering, to be sure. I'm glad they did that. |
