| She has been putting it out there for over ten years. She also wanted the role in a NBC television movie version that was going to happen in 2014 and fans wanted it too: https://www.broadway.com/buzz/175988/weekend-poll-top-three-fans-want-laura-osnes-as-marian-in-nbcs-the-music-man/ She also discussed the role in a podcast. Back then before all the brouhaha, she would have been a great choice. I think there was some controversy before the vaccination issues in that the church or the pastor she was affiliated with was anti-gay. Some people took this as Laura being anti-gay as well. No homophobic statements or attitudes made public have emerged suggesting that Osnes is anti-gay though she is not an LGBT ally. Frankly social media is the dominant way of influencing the public. I don't think she is the only performer trying to promote herself or trying to get projects using social media. Marlo Manners (Lady B) |
