It was originally announced that she had been fired, but the theater shortly thereafter admitted that their policy had not been explained to her and she did in fact withdraw rather than be vaccinated. Their official statement included a line about hoping to work with her in the future. Tony Yazbeck did have young kids at home and did not want to risk working with her. She was replaced by Sierra Boggess. This was in the summer of 2021. lordofspeech applied the adjective "graceful." Only that other Lord knows for certain if that was the case. Their other stipulation was that she show proof of a negative Covid test. I'm not sure if she refused to do that. I don't see why anyone would refuse to be tested. At this point I am relatively certain that each and every one of us has interacted with someone who has not been vaccinated against Covid. I don't think anyone owes her an apology (nor she them, for that matter), but I don't think the door to Broadway should remain shut to her either. We are no longer in a pandemic and vaccines are no longer mandated. |
