No one is saying she has to agree with anyone else (at least I’m not), or that she can’t have a different set of values - we’re simply saying it’s very likely she won’t be rewarded because of that.
Though I believe your heart is in the right place, awards are silly things anyway, and it’s foolish to think that politics and personality haven’t always been a part of the process… history is so littered with examples aside from the one I cite below that I won’t waste the time, but suffice to say there have been dozens of artists who lost out on awards and other commendations because of their political viewpoints -
to say nothing of other controversial remarks, or even the general idea of whether they’re ‘well-liked’ and admired within the industry.
Judging from what I’m seeing, and you may disagree on whether it’s fair, but Nicole Scherzinger is waking up today significantly less well-liked in the circles of Broadway. |
