| There's certainly a story worth telling there, if things can be fixed. The film which won Jessica Chastain a Best Actress Oscar told her story very well; I hadn't really followed the real Tammy Faye, other than seeing headlines and photos of her and her husband back in the day. But the film made her appear to be much more well-rounded and sympathetic than the late night comedians' jokes at her expense. She actually spoke up and supported gays amongst Falwell, Swaggert and that bunch which was admirable, among some of her other enlightened and redeeming actions. I think there's plenty there with all the trappings (rallies, over the top tv show, etc.) to make a good musical; whether they can fix things remains to be seen based on comments from previews of the show. |
