| At least in August. Maybe plays had already closed. But even the wildhorn’s new show I know you lied in April closed before it started. Sunday matinee might not be the best gauge of how well a show is running. But weekly running costs in ny are higher than London which probably contributes to the long runs. In ny, Chicago and lion king and phantom seemed to keep the quality and energy going even for tourist crowds for decades. Of the last season on broadway, I have to admit that future was one of the better musicals. Not enough to win the tony, but I enjoyed it more than many of the others. |
