Caroline Aaron and Matt Doyle Return to the New York Stage in Conversations With Mother A New Play by Matthew Lombardo Directed by Noah Himmelstein At Theatre 555 Previews begin February 7, Opening Night February 23 Strictly Limited Run New York, NY – Producers Bryan McCaffrey and Laura Z. Barket announced today that Conversations with Mother, a new play by Matthew Lombardo starring SAG Award winner Caroline Aaron ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel") and Tony Award® winner Matt Doyle ( Company) will play a strictly limited engagement this winter at Theatre 555 (555 West 42nd Street). Noah Himmelstein directs. Casting is by Nick Peciaro. It is produced by Bryan McCaffrey, BPM Theatrical and Laura Z. Barket, Theatre Nerd Productions. Showtown Productions (Nathan Gehan and Jamison Scott) serve as executive producer with Showtown Theatricals/Jessica Morrow general managing. Preview performances begin on February 7 and opening night is February 23. It will run through May 7. A ticket on-sale date will be announced. Lombardo's semi-autobiographical comedy traces the relationship between Italian matriarch Maria Collavechio (Caroline Aaron) and her gay son (Matt Doyle) spanning the course of five decades. As they continue to test their lifelong bond, the play depicts the outrageously funny and sometimes completely infuriating dynamic between a domineering mother and her rudderless son. The rest of the creative team is to be announced. MATT DOYLE (Bobby) won the 2022 Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance as Jamie in Broadway's revival of Company. He recently made his UK stage debut starring as Frank Sinatra in the world premiere of Sinatra: The Musical. Broadway credits include Tony-winning musicals The Book of Mormon and Spring Awakening; Tony Award winning Best Play War Horse ; and the revival of Bye Bye Birdie. Off-Broadway credits include Little Shop of Horrors, Sweeney Todd, and Brooklynite. Matt has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, at symphonies across the country, and continues to headline a sold-out solo show throughout New York City and beyond.
