| I don't know about Cook, but I think Lansbury was in A Little Night Music. Of course one of the concerts was a Monday so she could have been at that one but not the Tuesday. Maybe she wasn't feeling up to it on her night off. (for West Side Story they did have Oliva on the Monday night doing America, while she was still in WSS on Broadway, then on Tuesday, Alexander Gemignani did Something's Coming in that spot). I remember thinking, overall, it was very strange that no material from the stage production of ALNM was done in the birthday concert. I doubt the rights holders (Sondheim??) would have prevented it just because it was playing on Broadway at the same time. |
