Yeah, it definitely took a long time in comparison with some of the other roles. I don't know why.
As for the quick turnover in some roles, it's a bit reminiscent of Off-Broadway in the 1950s and early 1960s when pay was so low that there was often incredibly fast turnover in some long-running shows, most notably in the Theatre de Lys Threepenny Opera when audience members sometimes got programs with no actors listed for a shocking number of roles, with inserts being used to fill out the roles for which no one was listed. |
