GOOD BONES Last Night

Oddly slack. GOOD BONES is most engaging when it’s addressing the internal tension that economic advancement may bring to those who were once poor. Incorporating this into a familiar gentrification-cum-ghost story presses the play into more didactic, less interesting territory. Because the uneasy relationship between personal gain and social responsibility is insufficiently characterized, GOOD BONES feels more like a screed than a drama; it’s just a good idea for a play. The too deliberate pacing further exposes the play’s weakness. IJames’ FAT HAM bounded from the stage. Regrettably, GOOD BONES just sits there.
